ABOUT ANN KLOBUCHER
Recent world events afforded me the opportunity to take stock of what really matters: positively impacting organizations and people.
For over 28 years, I’ve been in your shoes. I have been a leader in a large corporation responsible for producing results.
During my professional career, I have, many times, been in the position where my job security depended on assessing deficiencies and identifying how to improve departments, all while keeping employee morale and momentum at their peak.
It hasn’t always been easy. But it has ALWAYS been worth it.
My desire to positively impact organizations and people led to my decision to venture out of the corporate world and into a new role as consultant. CEPHEI was born out of this desire to make a broader impact. This role change has allowed me the flexibility to increase my scope and focus my efforts on exactly where my talent lies:
Intuitively discern what is causing failures, inefficiencies, and/or challenges in any department or team.
Effectively partner with leadership teams to ensure their contributions are preserved and appreciated.
Develop & implement efficient, timely and highly successful, transformational changes in an organization.
I want to help organizations solve business problems, but in a way that honors their culture, makes people feel valued and appreciated, and is rooted in partnership. the CEPHEI story
You’ve likely never heard the word CEPHEI (pronounced “cee-fee-eye”), but the unique word embodies everything we believe in and strive for through our work.
The name, CEPHEI, actually came from my dad, Tom Crocker. My dad has a passion for science and spent time volunteer teaching science to elementary school children, including some curriculum in astronomy. He and his wife Debbie sent me a text one day suggesting the name CEPHEI, which comes from the name of a star Alpha Cephei.
In researching the star, I learned that Alpha Cephei is described as a big, bright, class A STAR on its way to becoming a red giant. I laughed out loud at how this was already a good description of me, a classy redhead with a big personality on her way to bigger and better things!
Further research led me to a meaning of the name Cephei:
“A natural leader, independent and individualistic. Extremely ambitious, original and courageous. Employs new and unproven methods. An explorer and an innovator. Self-reliant, confident and energetic.”
This also rang very true of me and the leadership style I believe in so deeply.
Cephei is one of the stars that acts as an indicator of true north and takes its turn being the North Star due to the precession of the equinoxes.
“True North” also resonated very strongly for me. In business, I have come to believe that True North means doing what we should do, not what we can do.
It means doing the things we should do, even when they may be hard, challenge the status quo and bring sometimes uncomfortable changes. It means doing what is right, fair and ethical, always.
You now have some insight into the heart behind CEPHEI. We believe that right now is the time businesses need to find their own True North, to not only survive, but to thrive during these turbulent times.
